Lakeland Terrier is originated from United Kingdom but Azawakh is originated from Mali. Lakeland Terrier may grow 37 cm / 14 inches shorter than Azawakh. Lakeland Terrier may weigh 17 kg / 37 pounds lesser than Azawakh. Both Lakeland Terrier and Azawakh has almost same life span. Lakeland Terrier may have less litter size than Azawakh. The Lakeland Terrier hails from the lake district of England. They were bred to hunt foxes that were coming after the lambs during lambing season.
These dogs are connected to a number of terrier breeds such as the Bedlington-, Border-, Old English Black and Tan- as well as the Dandie Dinmont Terriers.
In 1921 the Lakeland Terrier Association was formed and the American Kennel Club registered a Lakeland in 1934.
Azawakh dog was bred by the nomads in Africa. They were originally bred to be a guard dog. But, they realized that their body shape and bone structure allows them to run really fast (some say that they can run at the speed more than 65 km/h. This fact made them ideal for the hunting.
