Rhodesian Ridgeback is originated from Zimbabwe but American Bully is originated from United States. Rhodesian Ridgeback may grow 19 cm / 8 inches higher than American Bully. Rhodesian Ridgeback may weigh 9 kg / 19 pounds lesser than American Bully. Both Rhodesian Ridgeback and American Bully has almost same life span. Both Rhodesian Ridgeback and American Bully has almost same litter size. Both Rhodesian Ridgeback and American Bully requires Low maintenance.
Known as the African Lion Dog, the courageous Rhodesian Ridgeback hails from Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe.
He was bred essentially to be a hunter as well as a home guardian. These dogs were crossed with European dogs, with the original breed standard being drafted by F.R. Barnes By the 1860s, European colonisers had imported certain European dog breeds to the area such as Greyhound, Terriers, Bloodhounds as well as other breeds. These were mixed with the indigenous African dogs.
The Ridgeback Club was also founded. It was in 1955 that the American Kennel Club recognized the dog as a member of the Hound group.
The American Bully breed was founded in the United States in the mid of 1990s also recognized by the United Kennel Club on July 15, 2013. They are augmentation from the American Pit Bull Terrier breed. The ultimate goal of creating this breed was the best family companion. They are selective breeding which means the characteristics and their temperament are artificial ones. So they are influenced by several other breeds like English Bulldog and Olde English Bulldog.
